Kerri: Hi, Just surfing by. Sounds like y'all are having a time of it there in your county. The idea of each vet giving a day at a free clinic sounds good. I would like to know what happened to Snickers in the story begun on May 11. Is it true or are you creating it as you go?

MENTAL STATUS DELAYED

It seems our local animal abuser doesn't like her jail conditions.....She says, and I quote "I've been beaten and tased at Lerdo Jail.....Lerdo Jail is Kern County's holding faciltiy.....

CYNTHIA GUDGER.....they have decided this is her real name.....

A psychiatrist charged with determining whether  accused animal abuser Cynthia Gudger is mentally competent to stand trial will have another 30 days to get the job done.....a Kern County Superior Court judge ruled Tuesday.....

In court last Tuesday, Gudger demanded access to a phone at the jail, claiming she is on 24 hour lock down.....

Gudger faces 10 counts of felony animal cruelty after she was found living in filthy conditions among sick and dead animals in Tehachapi (California).....Animal Control officers seized 34 cats and 18 dogs and found 12 animal carcasses in her freezer.....

If she is found to be competent, she could be commited temporarily to a psychiatric hospital, outpatient treatment or a live-in treatment facility.....

After weighing all the options and going thru all the pros and cons of this lady's situation the staff at Homeward Bound Kittens has come to the conclusion that this women is nuts and should be LOCKED UP.....

CHILE HAS A HERO.....

An apparently homeless dog that pulled the body of another dog through traffic off a busy highway.....A surveillance camera on a Santiago freeway captured images of a dog trotting past speeding cars to pull the lifeless body of the other canine, which had been run over by a vehicle, away from traffic and onto the median strip.....

THE STORY OF INDY.....(a very lucky kitty)(part 1)

This story is from our local newspaper in the "YOU REPORT" section.....

On Nov. 11 at about 9:30 a.m. I was preparing to turn right from Oak Street onto Rosedal/178, when I saw something that caused me to bite my knuckles so hard that I drew blood.....

A tiny black kitten was racing, terrified, between cars in the congested intersection, trying desperatly to get out of the road to safety.  I saw the poor little baby nearly become road pizza four times before I was able to park my car on the roadside, jump our and run into the road after him.....

To the credit of the other drivers on the street, most had slowed or stopped in an effort to avoid the kitten.  I realized I was a much bigger target to avoid and hoped that if they had not seen the kitten, at least they couldn't miss seeing me.....

Now, while this may sound insane to most people, this is nothing unusual fir me.  I have been doing pet rescue for years, primarily cats, and I have no qualms about crawling into sticky situations when the life of a pet is in jeopardy.....

I realize that not everyone would go to these lenghts for an animal, and especially one they do not know.  On this particular morning, I was not the only one who was running into the intersection.....(end of part one....) to be continued in tomorrows entry.....

Also.....HOMEWARD BOUND KITTENS GIVES A TOUR OF THE FACILITY TO OUR LOCAL ANIMAL CONTROL.....WITH GREAT RESULTS.....

Its that time of year again.....THE HOLIDAYS.....are upon us again....From the staff at HOMEWARD BOUND KITTENS wishes each and everyone a great Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.....

Ya all have a great rest of the day.....and a better tomorrow.....ttfn.....Reid and Debbie
