Hi there.....its been a while since I've been here.....lots of things happening around "Homeward bound kittens".....We are in the process of remodeling our kitchen
We have been wanting a new stove since we moved in here and got the opportunity last weekend at a yard sale.....a stove and a refridgerator for $50.00.....a friend and neighbor bought the fridge for $40.00....and we got a good stove for $10.00
When we got it home we realized that it just didn't match the decor of the kitchen.....
The stove we are using is a counter top and the oven(we call it the cyclopes) is a big ugly looking green thing with this eye right in the middle.....if the oven light is on and all other lights are out it looks like a bloodshot eyeball.....
But with a little work.....sanding, painting and a little tlc, we will have a better kitchen.....kitty shelfs and assorted kitty toys will also be added.....
The big hole where the cyclopes once resided has been changed into a cabinet with assorted sizes of shelfs.....
"HOMEWARD BOUND KITTENS" UPDATE.....
Ethele.....one of our resident momma cats..... gave birth to three of the cutest little russian blue kittens.....we thought she would have more by the size of her belly.....but these were pretty hefty kittens.....
MORE TAXES FOR THE GOOD GUYS TO PAY.....
It seems that the Kern County Board of Equalization has decided to tax pet owners if they decide to sell their pets.....Owners and breeders will be required to report all sales and will be allowed only three sales per year.....This is all well and fine except that the underground breeders still will not pay anything.....as usual the good guys lose again.....Some of the legal breeders say this tax is unfair and should not be allowed.....Staff at the sanctuary also agree that this tax is unfair.....WHY DO THE GOOD GUYS ALWAYS HAVE TO PAY?????
What's next on there agenda.....how about taxing everyone that breeds anything.....rabbits, pigs, birds, and yes.....even you guppy breeders will have to pay a tax.....ISN'T THERE ENOUGH TAXES TO PAY?????
The Kern County Board of supervisors has again delayed any decision on any animal ordinances until late Sept.
It is the opinion of this writer that nothing will ever got done if first they don't settle their petty squabbles.....
This is what is wrong with the way this country is being run.....if the upper echilons of the government would settle their petty squabbles, maybe this country could get back on track.....
That's about all the news.....maybe more next time.....
Ya' all have a great rest of the day.....and a better tomorrow.....ttfn.....Reid and Debbie
